Purim is Approaching, Read about the Purim Holiday Here.

About Purim

Purim is one of the most colorful and joyful Jewish holidays. The story of Esther is read out loud and the audience makes noise, stomping their feet and using noisemakers to drown out the name of the villain, Haman. Costumes are encouraged and there are contests, games and lots of fun to celebrate this holiday.

It is traditional to give  gifts of food, especially fruit, nuts and Hamentashen to friends, family and neighbors.

There are four requirements (Mitzvot) at Purim

  • Reading the Book of Esther out loud
  • Being festive and rejoicing
  • Giving gifts of fruits and nuts
  • Offering gifts to the poor

We're really proud of our new look - we all worked really hard to make our existing storefront roomier for our customers, and more pleasant to visit.

And while you wait for your baked goods, or while you sit and have something to eat, your kids can feel free to draw all over our chalkboard wall (please keep below the blue line, though!).

We're the same ownership, so nothing has changed - so even if you don't quite "approve" of our new look, please do continue to visit us! You'll still get the best baked goods in Northern New Jersey.

Thanks to all our faithful customers!

Gina's Cafe Hours Begin Thursday, July 3rd - Check Out Our Cafe Menu!

If you've always wanted to try one of our awesome upside down cakes, chocolate roulade, chocolate raspberry truffle torte, or other incredibly rich and special handmade desserts - but didn't necessarily want to buy the whole package - now you can just sit back at Gina's and have a piece, or even take a slice home with you.

This week, we're very excited to announce that beginning Thursday, July 3rd, our cafe hours go into effect. We'll now be open until 11:00pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, which means not only will you have more time to stop by and pick up our delicious baked goods, but for the first time you can actually sit down and enjoy items by-the-slice, such as our famous whole fruit pies and select cakes.

We have some indoor seating, as well as plenty of outdoor seating under our awning, complete with lights for enjoying your pie slices and other goodies throughout the evening.

Grand Reopening Tasting Party: June 14th

Let your kickoff to summer begin with a tasting at artisan Gina's Bakery!

Did you read about our exciting renovations? They're in progress right now, and will end in a Grand Reopening Tasting Party at the new and improved Gina's Bakery on 110 Walnut Street in Montclair, on June 14th, from 11am to 3pm.

Our event – the first ever at Gina's Bakery – will coincide with Montclair's first farmers market of the year, so please make sure to put our Grand Reopening on your calendar.  We're just a short walk from the farmers market, which is at the Walnut Street Train Station, just down the road.

Whether you're a regular (and we know there are a lot of you) or you've never been to our one-of-a-kind true artisan bakery, we sure hope you'll stop by to check out our new digs and taste the latest and greatest! This is the perfect opportunity to sample our award-winning handmade  breads, pies, cupcakes and other treats.

Rain Date: If it's raining, we'll move the event to the following Saturday, June 21st, from 11am to 3pm. So don't worry, you'll get a second chance to try everything!

We look forward to seeing friends, both new and old!
